📢 Message for Local Residents – Door‑to‑Door Sellers & Seasonal Scam Awareness

As the lighter nights return, we often see an increase in door‑to‑door sellers and cold callers in our neighbourhoods. While many are genuine, some individuals may use this opportunity to carry out scams or put pressure on residents.

Please keep the following in mind:

🔹 You are under no obligation to answer the door to anyone you’re not expecting.
🔹 Genuine traders will never pressure you into making quick decisions or handing over money at the doorstep.
🔹 Always ask for official ID - and take the time to check it properly.
🔹 Never share personal or financial information with someone who calls unexpectedly, either in person or by phone.
🔹 If you feel uncomfortable, threatened, or unsure, close the door and contact the police on 101.
🔹 For immediate threats or suspicious behaviour, call 999.

If you notice anything unusual - such as individuals going door to door late into the evening, acting suspiciously, or showing signs of targeting vulnerable residents - please report it so we can look into it.
